AllThingsFirstAid.com About Us
Welcome to our site! This website is one of several sites owned by Crisis Management Systems Inc. (C.M.S., Inc.)
-a Virginia Corporation. We are located in Ruckersville, Virginia. (just north of Charlottesville, VA.), but our company was founded
in San Francisco, CA on July 5, 1991 by Julia Moore and Steven Hull.
In June, 2001, we moved our headquarters to Charlottesville, Virginia. We are currently in Barboursville, VA. Due to your requests, we have created a small showroom with just a few of the thousands of products we offer on display. It also offers a way to do Will Call Pick-ups if you are in the area. We traditionally service our customers through e-commerce,
phone, FAX and in-person sales calls. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or have special requests.
Our History
In 1991, we began a firm providing disaster consulting,
training and planning services for businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area. Unlike many emergency preparedness vendors, that talk
about disasters they see on television (or today Reality TV), our founders carried decades of on-site emergency management experience in disasters, pre-hospital care, training, corporate preparedness and response into the business from the start. After several years, Julie and Steve began to see a shift in
customers' needs - receiving numerous requests for the proper products and custom-built systems for emergency response.
Coupling their extensive background in the field with the "new" way of selling, we looked to the Internet to move forward.
In late 1995, we created SafetyStore.com as an experiment. SafetyStore started out as an small
Internet site designed to supply hard-to-find home and business preparedness products. We are told now that when we started our website,
there were less than 25,000 websites in the World. Over time, our 6-page, 40-product website has grown to thousands of pages and products.
We are known as a pioneer selling safety and emergency response products on the internet. Our growth was mostly responsible due to our customers requests for what was missing in the marketplace. Unlike most larger companies where customer service agents are trained to not forward complaints or suggestions to high management, at CMS, Inc. we have always listened for areas of improvement, individual requests, customized needs and additional product line suggestions. Over time, thousands of customer's comments have grown to incorporate a wide range of needed products and services.
As the Internet grew over the years, so did our reputation for great customer service and first-hand product knowledge. Homemakers to international relief groups and government agencies have come to rely on our safety and emergency management knowledge
and product expertise. From weekend camping trips to first aid stations for war-torn areas, we pride ourselves on being able to find the right items and services to fill the customers requests.
In 1999, we drastically expanded our business position to more fully meet customer's needs by offering internet, telephone order,
wholesale and retail sales. AllThingsFirstAid was born.
We added 5 websites to offer targeted products for specific customer interests including:
In every few years, we completely rebuilt our internet and back-shop order systems. In 2015 Allthingsfirstaid.com is getting a fresh new
look, while still trying to add new product lines.
More importantly, the products are easier for our customers to find, customize and
order. We are adding more informational articles, tips and ideas to help people, businesses and government agencies quickly
jump-start emergency preparedness and response programs. As the Internet matures, so does our company's internet
security and computer network to protect both our customers and our growing company.
We moved our offices and warehouse from Charlottesville up to road to Ruckersville and recently Barboursville, VA. All small towns close to our home. The move allowed for us to create a small photo studio, upgraded graphics department and room a temperature-controlled warehouse space.
TODAY:
We are in spread into 3 suites: An office with conference space and design space, An Apparel showroom/retail and fulfillment warehouse. On the internet, we are continuing to add exciting new products and websites to help you find the
specialty products you need faster. We are even adding a few non-safety related websites.
(Special note:
Do you have a website that functions but isn't bringing in the sales you had planned based on your costs?
We may be able to work with you and still convert your idea into residual profits by working with us. We are interested in acquisitions of unique websites. Contact us to talk further about this.
